Beach Cleaning

Help fight the mass ocean pollution at Pringle Bay and Betty's Bay

Our beaches are one of the main reasons that so many people flock to our every year. We are lucky to be home to some Blue Flag beaches too, but we need to work at ensuring that our beaches remain as clean as possible, which is why we try to clean up the several beaches in our area. Every week we try to tackle a particular part of a beach.

If you would like to join please let us know and we can make arrangements; as it is all about the environment we kindly request that you bring your own reusable gloves {instead of using disposable ones of course}

The issue with beach pollution is that between 2% and 5% of all plastic ends up in the ocean eventually, according to National Geographic.  Bear in mind though that it still amounts to 4.8 to 12.7 million tonnes of plastic waste!

The good news is that humans are already more environmentally conscious than just ten years ago and there are numerous efforts underway to protect our environment.

To join is absolutely free, bring your own bags and gloves, start combing and once we’re done with the clean up we collect all the bags, clean and sort it to be used in one of our creative upcycle programs in our workshop.
